Car Hire Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Would anyone have any recommendations for car hire from Chiang Rai Airport?

I always use Avis but there prices have gone crazy. Hertz are not great either.

Someone recommended Fastcarhire.co.uk and said he used them a lot but I googled them and the reviews are really bad which is a shame as they are very reasonable.

I need a car for 8 days in March.

TIA.

Go to a local bar and ask the Farangs. They normally have a good idea.

What are the prices? I'm used to paying about US$1,000 per month or about $300 per week.

Edit: What's wrong with These Rates?

Do they have shuttle from airport ?

They are not based there right ?

They have a counter at the airport and I got my car there (reserved). At worst you could get a taxi into town if no one was there.

A lot of the guest houses have a car or small pickup for hire at reasonable rates.

Not sure if you could book online, might need to come into town and check personally.

They wouldn't provide insurance so not an option.

Hertz wasn't bad. Toyota VIOS for around 1,100 Baht per day, plus around 250 for zero excess insurance. Service at the airport was good.

I'm sure there are cheaper options, but I've used Hertz around the world and they never rip you off.

north wheels are excellent - they'll have a car ready for you on arrival at the airport. check their website for rates etc.
