Where to buy a new DVR

Featured Replies

So - my aged Philips DVR died. I suppose I could ask the Philips service centre to repair (yet again - 2 times previous in the distant past), but I prefer buying new. Checked HomePro TV cente - not have. Tried Lazada - not have. Googled - not find other than for CCTV systems.

I'm looking for a DVR that can be tuned into all the cable TV channels and record at least one channel.

Any suggestion where to buy here in Thailand ? Thank you

Best to steer clear of American electrical appliances in Thailand wrong voltage, wrong Hertz, wrong TV standards

Uk standards work for most stuff in Thailand

Update - so I called into the little Philips service agent just past BKK hospital on Samkong. Same lady, same technician as 5 years ago (lady says she has been there for 29 years). They checked the age of my DVD - over 8 years and Philips only keep spare parts for 5 years.

I knew it was likely a power outage problem - yet again (I must buy a superior UPS than Banana sell). Technician promised to see if he could repair the power board, and 24 hours later the lady phone back saying it was repaired. 1,500 baht a bit steep for labour and parts. Collected and back home it works fine again.

I've just bought two UPS units from Invade IT in Hua Hin. They have a large range of them.

It's run by farangs and their customer service is excellent.

Yes, know them well. Owner helped/worked for Thaivisa with software support in the distant past. They have an excellent reputation. I'll check their prices ...
