Two men were sent to Siem Reap Provincial Court for questioning yesterday after they were arrested in connection to the decapitation of a 24-year-old woman Friday night, police said. The woman was murdered at the Moon Rise Guesthouse in Siem Reap. Her body was found headless beneath the bed in one of the suspect’s rooms, while the other, who said he was the woman’s boyfriend, was found carrying her head at the time of his arrest.

The suspects, Chan Chhaya, also known as Sarath, 40, and 24-year-old construction worker Nath Soek, were arrested on Saturday for the murder of Leng Seila, according to Major Duong Sokha, chief of the major crimes unit in Siem Reap province.

Mr. Chhaya, a Thai-speaking tour guide, was arrested at about 5:30 pm behind his home in Duong commune’s Prey Chas village with the burned head of the victim, allegedly trying to destroy evidence of the murder. Mr. Soek was arrested later that night by military police in Oddar Meanchey province.
