Need Help on The Geographics of Chiang Rai

I have lived in Chiang Mai Thailand for 8 years now but am now ready to head north.

I have been to CRai many times but I do not know the lay of the land well.

Can someone please give me an idea of where to move to in Chiang Rai?

I am looking for the best area for me to rent or build a house.

I want to be no more than 30 to 45 minutes outside of the City,

I want to have a mountain view or be in the mountains, Clean and Quiet area with cement or paved roads and very little noise and little traffic.

Please advise me which is the best area or district.

Thank You kindly

I'd look to the west or south West, along the river towards the hot springs or south on the old Chiang Mai Road.

For the type of isolation you're talking about you may be looking at added expense for connecting electricity/water/phone/cable internet etc.

Come up for a couple of days and drive around, see what takes your fancy.

Doi Hang is about 7 to 10 kms from Jed Yod clock tower....out towards the national park and hot springs. Lots of really nice scenery along the river and mountains....certainly worth a look.
