Teacher Loses Consciousness While Driving, Crashes into Vehicles and House in Ayutthaya
Picture from responders. A dramatic road crash in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya on the morning of 3 March, saw a teacher lose control of his vehicle after reportedly blacking out behind the wheel. The crash resulted in significant damage to multiple vehicles and a roadside house, though miraculously, no serious injuries were reported. The incident occurred on the ring road in Moo 5, Pratu Chai subdistrict. The driver, a male teacher aged 50 from a local school, was on his way to work when he suddenly lost consciousness. As a result, his pickup truck veered off course and crashed into a passenger van parked on the roadside, waiting to pick up passengers. The impact caused the van to hit a red car parked nearby before the pickup continued forward, ultimately colliding with a house. The force of the crash left the teacher’s vehicle overturned and heavily damaged. Eyewitnesses immediately called emergency services, who arrived promptly to rescue the teacher from his overturned vehicle. Fortunately, he regained consciousness and only suffered minor scrapes and bruises on his arms and body. The driver of the damaged passenger van recounted the frightening moment, explaining that he had parked on the roadside to pick up passengers. “I was waiting with my van parked when suddenly the pickup crashed into the back of my vehicle. It then slammed into the red car beside me before hitting the house. It was a terrifying moment, but thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.” Police from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya station responded to the scene and began their investigation. The teacher was questioned about the circumstances leading to the crash, though initial reports indicate no alcohol was detected in his system.
