Renewal of 5 year driving licence

Featured Replies

I need to renew my 5 year licence in the next couple of weeks. Last time I renewed it I had to do various physical tests (vision/reaction tests) and watch an hour long video in Thai. It was a very time consuming process and I was wondering

1 is the process still the same?

2 do all the DLT offices go through this whole process (physical tests, video etc)? Last time I went to the DLT on Sukhumvit, Bangkok. Is there anywhere that doesn't require all this?

3. Would a permanent residence book and alien book replace the requirement for address verification from my Embassy?

Thanks in advance

That's the best advice ,some are easy ,some not even within a province the offices vary.

At least for the physical tests all reports I remember say that they are required. Close to 100%.

The "1 hour training" aka. watching video is official policy and also remember such reports.

You have a PR and alien book: that is so rare that it is not mentioned.

Official policy says that a WP is sufficient.

Common sense would say that and alien book is even more sufficient (of higher evidence).

But that's common sense. So try to find out whether your DLT knows what it is smile.png

Might involve asking a superior.
