Redknap's management comeback derailed

Featured Replies

Jordan were hoping that Arrys's re ignited come back to Management might make him a national hero.

Sadly for him not to be .The Socceroos defeated Jordan 5-1 tonight, in Sydney, despite Jordan winning the first leg 2-0.

Harrys' look was described as "bemused" by commentators,as his side were 5-0 down with a minute to play.

Exciting times for Aus followers, not only Tim Cahill notching another 2 goals but the new talent coming through

as they progress to the next round of qualifiers.

Doubt he'll be too concerned especially as he'll no doubt be coming away with a few sheckels in his sky rocket smile.png

Yep was a great win surprised by the score line but Jordan not a good side on the road....

I'm not sure what Jordan were hoping to achieve by bring in Harry. He had such little time with them it was always going to be futile. Onwards and upwards for the Aussies. We are looking much better than this time four years during qualification for Rio.

I presume Rosie is doing his taxes again.

He has his new job at Derby to fall back on. The Jordan job was just to top up his tan.

No I think the Derby gig has evaporated .In a bizarre twist in the tales of Arry he has been appointed as a "Consultant" to the Australian A League side Central Coast Mariners for next season This season will end with the GF tomorrow.

Central Coast Mariners, based just north of Sydney, have a lovely home ground with a capacity of 20,000 but of late they have been lucky to draw 8,000. Reason, they finished in last place, 10 points behind their nearest rival. There is no promotion or relgation.

They won the tile in 2008/2012 and have fallen on hard times. An ex team mate of mine, and season ticket holder, is shaking his head in disbelief.

He's not sure what sort of retainer Arry is on but whatever it is its too much apart from PR value,a sort of Shebby Singh scenario,he really helped Blackburn

The A league is bullshit. No promotions relegation etc. Same has the rugby(yawn). They really need to promote it more and have a second tier. Have a cup comp that brings in the lower league teams. Here in Sydney. They are thousand of people playing football. But since the rugby takes priority then the A league suffers. I <deleted> cant stand rugby.

Bizarre indeed. This week; before getting Australian gig; Harry was strongly linked with the Nigerian national team job. No pipe and slippers for Harry.

Again its all about money.Crowds are still not big enough. The TV money is relatively small.Like I said before the Mariners financially are struggling and they are not the only ones.

There is a cup competition in progress right now involving teams from all over the country ,my old club is one of them, but it does not involve promotion or relegation more FA Cup style. There are also several levels in each state so there is a ladder and of course the path to play in Europe is every good young players dream.

People would be surprised at the number of young Australian playing o/s

Because of the huge distances A League teams have to travel is another negative like Sydney to Perth is like 5 hours in the air.

Football at grass roots is booming especially the excitement with the Maltidas womens team making it through to Rio.Womens football is the fastest growing sport in the country

To where the game was 15 years ago,its doing ok and by the way the Australian Rugby Union have big cash flow problems their trend is downward.

50,000 + were at the A League Grand final today in Adelaide to watch the locals beat the Western Wanderers from Sydney, great game to watch.
