OK, this has to be another myth associated with wifi but does anyone believe that your wifi router should be turned off when not in use? I have never heard of this except in Thailand where various locals have told me when they go to work or turn in for the night they turn off their wifi routers. This makes zero sense to me only because I have never seen it done before. Your thoughts.

No need to turn it off. Saves problems by keeping it on unless you have a good reason to re boot.

It is a slight extra electric usage so for some that is reason enough - but perhaps more important is prevents anyone else using - knowing security is minimal that might make it a reasonable thing to do for most in close quarters. It also provides less interference to others so might be a reasonable thing to do for that alone.

It lets anyone that knows enough to check your wifi that your not home or asleep and don't use a remote security system. Just have a good password.
