Most of the honours went Chelseas way in this exciting but scrappy encounter, that the ref almost lost control of. Again, as with most continental referees he blew up when someone farted, yet did not see the real nasty ones which could have had a member of each side sent off. In fact had the ref given the penalty, which to be fair not a lot of people saw, he would have had to send some-one off. But Lampard does not fall over for nothing, with a clear sight of goal. Barca, always looked dangerous on the attack, and but for a smart piece of keeping, Barca could have gone two up.

As it was Chelsea levelled in a way which I can say is one of the best goals I have ever seen. Chelsea should have gone 2-1 up when Gudjohnson scored, but we forgot he was one of them now. It was left to Drogba, to produce another piece of sublime finishing, three minutes into stoppage time.

The table look s like this after Werder Bremen's win in Sofia

P W D L F A Pts

Chelsea 4 3 1 0 8 3 10

Werder 4 2 1 1 6 3 7

Barca 4 1 2 1 8 4 5

Lefkas 4 0 0 4 1 13 0

Come on the 'pool

Liverpool also won, 3-0 to top their group as well.

Good results from Man U, Arsenal and Celtic tonight, will show the world that British football is once more on the acsendancy.

That Lampard goal was a classic, and he was in fine form all match.

Just before the goal he played a brilliant one-two pass down the left flank that cut out about 4 defenders and sent him clear for an inch perfect cross on the ground that cut out the Barcelona back 2 only for Robben to put it into the stands. Was the Frankie of old.

Strange people football people. I notice that before the match Frank Riijkard was quoted as saying

" What's wrong with Mohrino? I can take defeat. I don't go running to the ref when something doesn't go our way. I'm too grown up for that"

Is that right Frank? Oh dear. Case of mouth open feet in I think.

You Tractor Boys are starting to improve. I watched the game V Luton and you have a couple of good young lads up front. CFC were bought by Ken Bates for a quid mate so 5 million proves we have come along way.

This is just banter.
