was wondering if any of you have made the trk from pattaya to hua hin, i would like to by-pass bangkok if possible, have checked out some taxi fares and they are too much, any help would be much appreciated

All roads lead to BKK. Sure you could go via Phuket or something but sanely speaking you have to go through BKK.

Bus to Ekkamai

Skytrain to Victory monument.

The rest is in the pinned section of this forum.

Takes up to 6 hours depending on traffic, weather, general insanity etc.

taxi from pattaya to bkk ... 1000 bath to victoria monument

minibus to hua hin 180 bath (about)

Bus to Ekkamai is 120 or so and 35 for skytrain.

Taxi will save maximum 40 minutes.

Not worth it, IMO
