The jury said: “Commanding officers should have ordered the closure of the central tunnel before the opening of gate C was requested as pens three and four were full.”

They said commanding officers should have asked for figures and failed to recognise pens were at capacity.

They said the safety certificate was never amended to reflect changes at the Leppings Lane end. The capacity figures were incorrectly calculated and the safety certificate had not been reissued since 1986.


27 years and finally those poor families are justified and can have some peace and hopefully justice. RIP the 96.

It is disgusting that it has took nearly 27 years to finally lay this to rest,the families can now at least have a little closure for there bereaved RIP

I should think the Cps will know have criminal charges to pursue.

Yes in a way this is only really the beginning of the end as now there should be charges brought against people/persons or organisations I would imagine.

If you want to know what a conspiracy on a grand scale looks like, look no further. So successful was the conspiracy that most of those up to their necks in it are already dead.

The rags were even in on it, in one way or another.

As an aside, I'm voting out of the EU as I'm getting that feeling of being lied to once again by the Tories.

South Yorkshire Police's chief constable David Crompton has been suspended over his response to Hillsborough, the BBC understands.


It comes after Shadow Home Secretary Andy Burnham said there had been a "27-year cover up" and "those responsible must be held to account".


On Tuesday a jury concluded the 96 victims of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster had been unlawfully killed.


Home Secretary Theresa May has praised the "determination" of the families.
