Tourist Visas from Savannakhet

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I am new to the forum, live in Bangkok at the moment and looking to settle in Issan with my girlfriend. I have about 6 months before I can apply for a retirement visa and need to renew my tourist visa early May.

Can I get another Tourist Visa in Savannakhet

I have a UK Passport

Thanks

You should have no problem getting another tourist visa in Savannakhet.

Where did you get your last one?

The last one was from Hull, going to try for the multi entry of they don't do the money check

You can easily get a tourist visa in Savannakhet. You could even get another one there that would give you the 6 months you need.

You will not get a multi entry tourist visa anywhere within the region.

If you want one you will have to return to the UK and apply for a METV there.

Just re read your original post.

If you aim to retire in Thailand there is no "retirement visa"

You could obtain an O/A visa from the Thai embassy in London but you would have to provide evidence of having the equivalent of 800,000 Bht in a bank or certified evidence of having a monthly income of 65, 000 Bht.

You can obtain a single entry "O" visa from a nearby country and then apply for an extension of stay based on retirement but you would have to meet the financial requirements mentioned above to obtain the visa and the subsequent extension of stay.

Thanks again

I still have 6 months yet so I will use singles till then as I do need to go to the UK in Nov anyway so I can do the retirement visa from there

Got back this morning from my visit to Savannakhet for my new tourist visa. Really easy to get and it cost me 1000Baht. Stayed at the Avalon Hotel in the old building, clean enough, internet was rubbish, food at the cafe they have was fair.

Along couple of days but a lot cheaper than flying back to the UK to get one .
