Will be visiting in a couple of weeks any local info on restos and nightlife would be appreciated.Also any standout places to visit around the city.

Staying in the city so a good hotel centraly with a pool if possible never been up there before so any local knowledge from people living there would help.Cheers.

there is a small eatery (hole in the wall) that serves good steaks, near the old market

said to be the place the Queen used to dine at when in the area.

ask around, locals should know the place

Nothing in Sakhon Nakhon. You would be better off in Mukdahan or Nakhon Phanom. Mind you not much "Wild Life"in any of the places. Hotels in Nakhon Phanom have swimming pools!

Done both travelling along the border from Nong Kai down to Sa Kaeo i liked Mukdahan but thought i would try Sakon and SDD
