Best Three Star Hotel In Hua Hin ?

Featured Replies

english farang lady,

Thailand does not yet subscribe to the international "star" system used in much of the world, so the number of "stars" is not too meaningful here -- the hotels themselves generally declare how many stars they have.

You would be fairly safe if you were looking for five-star hotels, but with three-star, it's caveat emptor.

If you could indicate roughly how much you wish to pay, in Thai Baht, you might receive a better response.

Agree. Novotel and Holiday Inn are 3 star in the West, in Thai they are 4-5 star.

Not that other places are dungeons but price can vary. For example, a hotel run by a Thai company may be charging 1500B. That same hotel, bought and run by a multinational chain, would charge 5-6000 baht.

On short stays, on my way to Samui I stayed several times at The Grand (nothing grand there, only the name). It was 1100B. It's hardly a walking distance, but that's what Thais would call a 3 star hotel.

It is above a busy night bazaar and there is a modern, not folk, disco next to it (noise does not reach the rooms).

Geez. Just checked their site, the prices are as high as for New Year Eve. But it says 40% discount if booked over the net. Phew. Not worth 2000B.

The City Beach Hotel is probably the most central, easy walking distance to all the restaurants etc.Have just stayed at the Grand and Plaza Hotel which was OK but about 600 mtres to the City beach Hotel but a short stroll to the new Tesco Lotus Mall which is probably one of the best in Thailand.

The Grand is a dump.

Thipurai City Hotel is much nicer and a much more central location. Fresh Inn is another good alternative.

I have never said The Grand is a great hotel. Acceptable for 1 night. Stayed there on 4 (or 5) occasions.

Fresh Inn

Fresh Inn is a good choice. Stayed there. Clean and safe. Cheap and good. Convenient too!

I believe it is located directly across the Hua Hin Hilton.

Ah, the City Beach, now that IS a dump - worse place I've stayed at in Hua Hin! And I've stayed at the Grand as well!! Great pool at the latter by the way.

Fresh Inn is very good value and great location.

Its steps from pretty well everything - beach, shopping, great Thai seafood and international dining, night market, bars and pubs, live music.
