Tiger Temple now becomes a legend when all tigers are gone

KANCHANABURI: The famous Tiger Temple in Saiyok district of Kanchanaburi province is now vacated of tigers after the last 11 tigers of the total 137 were all relocated today to two new homes in Ratchaburi province.

The six-day relocation of the bug wild cats with no resistance from either temple staff or local residents came to the end today with the last tiger “Sai Fa 2” tranquilized and put in cage before being transported to the wildlife breeding centre in Chom Bung district.

The last day of search inside the temple and at guest room near the abbot’s residence, also revealed more stuffed animals of rare species which are not allowed by laws for individuals to own.

They included an Asiatic black bear, an Asian golden cat, a leopard, skeletons of an Asian golden cat, and a leopard.

All were confiscated along with other tiger parts and carcasses which were earlier found.

These will be evidents to prosecute all those who were responsible.

Deputy director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Mr Adisorn Nuchdamrong said park officials have filed complaint with Saiyok district police seeking the police investigation to find all persons involved and whether the temple was engaged in illicit wildlife trade or not.

Time will tell ! and if any prosecutions and jail time is served, I have my doubts this being Thailand. I mean they were going to put their own legal person on trial for whistle blowing.

Raze the temple to ground. So people will remember the evil done.

Nah, turn it into a monkey house for all the misbehaving monks.

They have enough cages for a few hundred at least.

A museum of shame added to the special museums like the corruption museum.

You can bet your mortgage payment a large number of others where involved in this trade and the government should bring all they have to investigate and bring these people to justice

THE REST OF THE WORLD IS WATCHING

A museum of shame added to the special museums like the corruption museum.

Exactly....a museum of shame and animal cruelty.......and of course, the abbots' done a runner with the loot....
