Where To Stay?

Hello

I'm flying from Samui to BKK next week to go to the British Embassy to renew my passport.

I'm going to stay for a couple of days to take a look at Siam Square, shopping malls, Panthip

and I wanted to visit Pratunam market.

Can anyone suggest what Soi to stay on, so I am in reasonable closeness to the things I would like to do? And any recomendations for hotels aswell, nothing over a 1000 bht.

I really havn't stayed in Bkk so I don't know my way about.

Thanks for your help.

I've just done some searches and Soi's near Nana Station seem to be popular as the train can take me on to places like Siam.

Am I right in thinking that Nana Staion is off Sukhumvit?

Personally I've taken a fancy to staying at Grand Business Inn at Sukhumvit Soi 11. Been doing so for my last 3 trips to BKK. Price at 1500bht though, just slightly off your mark but its worthed it.

1)Clean and spacious room & toilet for its price.

2)Free Internet usage at the lobby and WiFi on every floor.

3)One min walk to Nana Station, and I really mean 1 minute.

4)24 hour cafe.

5)Free breakfast in the morning.

6)Near Bed Supper Club and Q Bar. Do drop by Bed Supper Club.

7)A 7-11 store situated right beside Grand Business Inn.

8)Great beef ball noodle stand smack right opposite the hotel as well.

9)Splendid 'al fresco' italian restaurant 50metres to the left of the hotel.

Enjoy your trip!

Regards,

Ritz

Nana Hotel, 1,300 baht with a swimming pool, UBC, Aircon, brekie, and tons of talent! :o

That's my personal favorite hotel UG! 5 thumbs up. These days 1000 baht or less gets you a flea bag in the area you will be staying but many people have no problem with flea bags so you just make your bed and lay in it for a few days. You can try the Rajah on Soi 4 or the Penthouse on Soi 11 or even the PB on Soi 3 (is that considered soi 3 skip?). Maxims on Soi 7/1 is another under 1K place. Skip mentioned Rex which is a very nice value. I used to stay at the Ambassador when it was 1K but now 1500 min. I've heard there are decent places near Pantip cheaper

On the guesthouse front, suk 11 already mentioned and there is one on an adjacent soi north of chitlom bts station
