Stupidly when painting a table with emulsion and despite having a dust sheet down, some flecks of paint went onto my nice polished wood floor. My attempts to clean these quite small spots has resulted in my spreading the paint within the wood, so now I have several unseemly white patches all over the floor. Has anyone got any good tips on how to remove these, or can recommend a product available in Bangkok to do so?

What is the finish on the floor?

What did you use to try to clean up? If it was emulsion paint you should have used water.

I suggest lots more water and paper towels on one of the less visible spots should be a starting point.

Yes, certinly dont start using thinners otherwise you will strip the finish from the wood floor.

for emulsion paint, hot (and soapy) water dissolves it as good as anything but when its engrained I suggest you try using the wifes toothbrush.

A toothbrush is actually one of the most useful tools I have....you can clean dust out of anything, tidy up grout joints, clean paint from your own fingernails and still does a fine job of cleaning the wifes teeth.

Just a bit of patience teasing the colour out is all thats needed and a reminder to remember paint on a roller is impossible to control.
