Questions about the Thai DL.

Featured Replies

I know there is a lot of info on here to look around. I do have 1 question however.

In the checklist for a Thai DL it says this:

4. ORIGINAL AND PHOTO COPY OF INVALID INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENCE (1949 CONVENTION) OR LOCAL DRIVING LICENCE (TRANSLATE IN TO ENGLISH OR THAI LANGUAGE AND CERTIFY BY EMBASSY IF IT IS N'T IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Now I am Dutch, I have my Dutch license with me (It is in Dutch, but it has English translations). Will they accept it? Do I need to go to embassy first?

I also have an International Driving License but is has expired, will that do me any good?

I mostly just want to avoid doing the theory tests, because I tried the online practice test and half the pictures are not even clear to see.. Most likely I will fail that tests at the moment.

Many thanks for the help,

Julian

Should be accepted, see your own post: " LOCAL DRIVING LICENCE (TRANSLATE IN TO ENGLISH OR THAI LANGUAGE AND CERTIFY BY EMBASSY IF IT IS N'T IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE) ".

The DLT office still may not accept, they all have their own policies.

steveni spot on, OP just go to your nearest DLT office with the papers you need, forget the expired IDL or IDP
