Featured Replies

Felt is all the way to BKK.. I am on 27th floor..

probably just an escaping burglar

Don't worry, it was just your neighbour having a good time.

I am watching the earthquake news in Italy on CNN ...and felt something, I thought I was feeling dizzy/sick ...couldn't be an earthquake too??

Yes. On the 25th floor here in BKK. All lifts have been turned off in our office building and we have been instructed to leave by the fire escape stairs. Should be fun.

Amazing considering the epicenter is 1300KM away from BKK..

Yeah, and it took less than 10 min for the tremor to arrive in Bangkok.

No, it's the fault line that runs North/South, in Myanmar and then extends down through the Andaman and onwards, having said that, it is a component of the Ring of Fire. Three years ago(ish)  in CM was the worst I've felt here, 20th floor and seriously scary - the same fault line.

Yup; the one three years ago moved a lot of stuff around in my glass cabinets up here in CM, that was quite a shaker.

Nothing in Mae Hia, Chiang Mai, and I have been sitting next to my pool for the last 3 hours

Jeez, Dave.  You take pictures of your hotel bills (and keep them)?

For the Thai readers among posters, cm108 has already started some limited reports.

Last time this happened they were pretty quick of the mark getting photos sent in direct from people in Burma and CR, some of the snaps of road damage and crevices or land displacement were unique and impressive.

Little now now but probably well worth a look tomorrow for those interested.
