converting 2 year Thai License to full 5 Year

Featured Replies

I have NON IMMIGRATION O visa 1 year multi  entry issued in UK valid last entry till 22 May 2017. My Thai 2 Year License expires 28 August 2017. What's best way to get 5 year permanent license - apply before visa expiry on 22 May 2017 or bring funds (800000 THB)  and apply for retirement visa here and than apply or get another multi entry visa in UK (non immigrant O) for 1 year (as I intend going to UK for few days in August 2017) and than apply immediately on return. Please give best scenario and many thanks in advance.

Remember:

you have up to one year after expiry date of the temporary DL to convert to the 5 yr licence without penalty (no extra test/cost).

As far as I know you can not apply more than 3 months in advance.

Not sure whether for temp. license it is even more restricted.

Every form of Non-O visa should suffice.

Of course a one year extension is a fool proof status.

If you intend to stay for "years to come"(?) and have the funds I would surely use this path. Don't forget the re-entry permit before going to UK in this case.

And? Why and?
