Camping gear in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm trying to find a place that sells good camping gear.  Specifically I am after a chemical toilet and solar showers.

Regards

Phil

Look up Thailand Outdoor - they have branches in most big cities....

They also have a FB page....

That is where I buy my Coleman stuff.....CM by Star Golf at the Archery range/store.....

Why do they not have camper vans / mobile homes in Thailand, been here now for more than 12 years & never seen one

Home pro sell portable toilets, not chemical but they are ok for camping here. If you look at tents there are local ones that cost a third of the imported ones and they keep the rain out and have tropical inner roofs which some imported ones dont have. The imported coolboxes cost an arm and a leg while there are local ones we use that keeps stuff cold for 3 days. We bought our coolbox at Thaiwadsadu, its tuff and effective. Remember to keep coolboxes out of the sun or to cover them with an insolating cover. You can look on Lazada for most of the camping equipment you need including solar showers. We camp for at least one month per year and dont talk based on hear say but based on experience.

As mentioned. Thailand outdoor .. I thought they were mail order.

I don't know if you can find your requests there but they would be the best bet.

Other camping shops would be Decathlon, the second floor at Amarin Plaza, there are shops in central world apparently that used to be in Amarin, or for general bags and that, North Face.

As Southernstar say, Lazada. I use eBay - Naturehike in China do some gear with good reviews, there are solar showers available for 250B-1000B, normal wait time is around 3 weeks.

Amarin plaza use to have a floor full of outdoor / camping gear. Not sure how many stores are still there, but worth a look. Its the most camping stuff I've seen in one place.

I have thought the same thing, one of the reasons could be mosquitos and similar.

I usually go to Equinox in Siam Centre, Good quality, big range but a little expensive
