How to sell my car?

Featured Replies

They insist on taking the old plates, ive seen plates Superglued on and they had to be chipped off. Must have been special reason in your case. As for Ferang, we are no different to Thais regarding any Reg Rules.I bought my Plates years ago when they were cheapish, so ive jumped through a few hoops, but no more than a Thai does.

Going back where.?. To a Main Office that pressed them, i think not. I Re State, even if its full of Dealers, and you got correct Docs they let you in if its just You, so little or no wait. Suphan, Chonburi,  Krabi and Phitsanulok are where ive found it so, never done one in BKK Area though..:post-4641-1156694005:

plate are not pressed at a main office.

The plate pressing is done by an outsourced company.

Mine were and still are in some areas I know nothing about BKK admittedly.

By the way,in an area, many think that the Big Place in their nearest Town is the Main One,there are many, but only one Head Office per Province.:post-4641-1156694005:

your plates were pressed at the Trans dept office ?.

I call buffalo excrement.

I seem to remember reading  that number plate making was done ( in some provinces )  by in mates at the prison

dont recall seeing any evidence of them being made at the Chonburi DLT,they have always told me to come back for the new plates

( 5 times  )  maybe they keep a few  on hand for special V.I.Ps should the need arise.

Which is what is said name change in province car is registered in. To change plates to new province simply go to the new province they will do the leg work you don't need to go to registered province to ask permission.

They refused to do the name change in Rayong as my residence letter stated I live in Chonburi.

Maybe they'll want the old plates turned in before they give me the blue book?

I'll be taking them along just in case, when I get round to changing them.

Can't understand why it would take 4 days for blue book. Plates usualy take a week as they have to check the vehicle out and get paper work from district it was registered in. Blue book update and name change is done in an hour or so. Yes old plates have to be handed in before you get new plates.

I've already got the new plates, and the old plates are still on the car, I'm just waiting for the blue book.

Maybe the trip to Rayong where they gave the seller a paper was the 'paperwork' needed so that was then not required. I let the seller handle it all.

Went this morning to the main Chonburi Land Transport Dept. to collect the Blue Book and got it no problem.

They didn't ask for the old plates so I didn't volunteer them.

Nobody need worry about the availability of plates there, they had tens of thousands of them at counter 13 on third floor.
