Splash Jungle vs. Phuket Orchid Resort

I was thinking of spending the day at Splash Jungle with my kids and wife. Ticket price for two adults and two children 3890 Baht for the day, for an okay looking water park, open from 10-6.

 

Or, book a night for 4 at Phuket Orchid for about 3300 including breakfast. Their water slides are just okay too.

 

I’ll take a night away from home, with the kids and wife for about 500 less.

 

I have no connection to Phuket Orchid.

Hmm on the website they have much cheaper prices if you have a work permit/thai driver license

 

there's also coconut island, 2 small slides + water sports for.. a drink or food.

 

Anyone knows if its possible to visit orchid and just order food/drinks? I wanted to email but their email server is broken.

 

also shot i just checked agoda, this weekend 2 adults/2kids 38$ usd + 10% charge

Had the same thoughts 2 weeks ago. Decided then for the nature version. Spend the morning hours at Ton Prai waterfall nearly alone. Lunch and afternoon at Natai beach. Boys were happy and played mad.

If you can get that price, more power to you, and yes, I do have a thai DL. For the small difference, I'll take a nice day south at a resort with breakfast included and the same okay water slide.

Are you sure about the Phuket Orchid? That's in Karon and has one fairly small slide.

Actually I've just looked at the Orchid's website and it seems they have a couple of new slides, well certainly since I last went inside there. But its a different animal to Splash Jungle.

I took the video tour, and granted it is not Splash Jungle (SJ), but for a few young kids and at that price you can't beat it for a short weekend away.

 

Jamie's Blog stated the dual pricing at SJ had possibly gone the way of the Dodo Bird. Can anyone confirm that? Either way, I don't normally do business with private companies if they have dual pricing.

 

Correction from my post 6. That is a significant savings.

orchid looks a lot more fun than splash jungle.

 

Jungle has 2 slides with tubes that don't totally suck and they don't even have enough tubes for everybody.. so people run with them to the snack area and sit on them for 4hrs while sunbathing.
