ATT Says I Must Get A New SIM Card Here in USA

Featured Replies

Here in the USA, ATT just sent me a text message saying my phone needs a free replacement SIM card to maintain my current wireless service and I must do it by October 25 at an ATT company store.  I have a basic LG flip top cell phone.  I don't have a data plan, no wifi.  Just voice and text basic 450 minutes voice, unlimited text .  Just wondering what could possibly be different at this point in time?

they can see you don't have 4G,

so if you were to later go and buy a new mobile,

your old SIM wouldn't work in it anyway...

oh! and if as it seems you prefer to keep your old plan, then hold on to your guns,

and change SIM, (and optionally change your phone), but insist to keep the old plan

Maybe just ring them up and ask? Or just stop by an AT&T shop and get a new, free SIM. I'm sure they'll tell you why, and I doubt it's anything nefarious.

I had to replace my T-Mobile (in the U.S.A.) SIM recently, no big deal, free in shop, took 30 seconds, no issues.
