Urologist

Featured Replies

I have to have a Cystoscopy procedure to relieve a urethral stricture.   Has anyone in Chiang Mai had this procedure and if so, at which hospital and who was the urologist.

I understand the cost will be anything up to 50,000 baht and my UK urologist tells me it should take no longer than 20 minutes and a general anaesthetic should be used.

I know that there is one urologist who seems to pop up everywhere, but I have heard that he does not install confidence sometimes with his robust attitude.

Appreciate any relevant information that is available.

Thank you

I did Cystoscopy last August at Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai. The urologist was Dr. Jakkrit Jun-U. I don't know the cost as at the same time I went through a Hernia surgery.

I was satisfied with the urologist and the hospital.

Get well soon :)

I had a kidney stone removed from my uretha at McCormick hospital about 9 months ago.    FOrgot the doc's name, but I was very happy with his demeanor and performance.    Spent 3 days in hospital and the bill came out to 48,000 baht.    I'd recommend him and the hospital.    Walk in the front entrance, go straight thru to the next set of double glass doors and you will be in the nurses station he works from.   Same workstation as the brain surgeon doctor.   Oh, the cost also included a CT scan which is normally around 9,000 baht.

Some potential options here:

UROLOGY (Urinary/Reproductive)

Dr Pruk Kithirathrakan

Rajavej Hospital, 053 801999

Dr Jamroon Wattanasakult

Rajavej Hospital, 053 801999

Dr. Bunnakit

Sriphat, his own private clinic and occasionally at RAM

053 5394 6900/1

Names from here:

Ajarn Bunnakit is the most well-known urological surgeon in C.M. I'm a patient of his. Can't say enough good things about him.

Not a good area to look for the lower priced charges. One to avoid as well as the hospital itself is on Hang Dong road. He shows no respect for anyone asking questions about procedures, alternatives, etc. My way or the highway comes to mind after exposure to him twice.

Never ever read a post recommending either of the first two, but plenty of posts singing the praises of Dr Bunnakit, so I'd go with him.

Stop with the personal remarks and stay on topic.

Great, thanks for the input Scott

OP sorry your thread got derailed.

Dr Bunnakit is the best urologist in Chiang Mai by a country mile.

I have used him and so have many others.

You have the info, now it's up to you.

Are there any lady urologists? I was thinking about visiting one, but I really don't like the idea of a man touching my todger!

Mr Oxon, your comment and your avatar both suggest some, er, ambiguity.

But there is one at Ram:  Dr.  Vipawan Chantapanich.

Just go see Dr. Bannakit. He's a great guy. Don't know why you are searching only for a female urologist? I don't see how it matters. Dr. Bannakit has both male and female patients. He's the best.
