Hi,

I don't know if I'm in the right session of the forum as haven't been on here in same time. Anyway my 5 year thai license runs out in November and I have a number of questions.

1. Can I renew my license in October or when's the lastest date  for renewal?

2. Can I renew my license on a tourist visa as I'm back working in Australia at the moment? Or what happens if I just come over for the 30 days just to renew the licence?

You have up to one year after expiry to renew without extra effort.

As far as I know you can renew up to 3 months before expiry.

The official rules do not allow renewal on tourist visa or 30 day exemption.

(second section)

The site has been redesigned recently and the text is more than confusing.

Very certain no theory or practical test within one year after expiry.

Yes, officially only temporary (2 year) license on tourist visa or visa exempt.
