Solicitor Practicing English Law

Does such a person exist in Phuket? Need to get a document signing witnessed and I've been specifically told it must be a solicitor practicing English law.

If you can have a thai lawyer do it, pm me. My wife had to do it recently and she sent her papers to bangkok because there was nothing under 2500b in phuket

I'll start with the fateful words, "I'm not a solicitor, but...."

 

I have signed papers in Thailand, which included the sentiment that they were drawn up to apply "under English law".

 

If you used a Thai lawyer, he/she would be doing no more than certifying that he/she has overseen the signing and witnessing of the document.

 

I'm pretty sure that the content of the document can be anything you want it to be, or according to any jurisdiction's law that you choose. I would suggest that the certification of the document is a separate issue which can be done by any lawyer.

 

I suspect you'll be able to Google info on this because it's an issue for any conflict of jurisdiction around the world.
