PHETCHABURI: -- A man on a jetski has been filmed overtaking trucks at 40mph on a road flooded with deep water.

The adrenaline junkie wheeled out his machine after heavy monsoon rains turned the highway into river.

Shocked pedestrians watched him hit almost 40mph as he raced along the road in Phetchaburi, Thailand, on Wednesday afternoon.

The man - who has not been identified - speeds down the right hand lane which is totally clear with just an open stretch of water.

One assumes he had deposited his passport as surety that he would return the jetski  undamaged....

He thinks there are no submerged obstacles in the flood, like in lakes and seas...good luck!

I remember an MP,  who thought he was a bit of a Flash Harry, doing this in the Don Muang area a few years back and getting thumped when the wash from his jetski swamped a small boat.

They didn't seem that shocked to me.

They seem amused ...seems the UK press is just as bad as the Thai press in reporting facts.

When God created the Earth he wanted to spice it with a pinch of <deleted>. But, He made mistakes and added far too much...

Cool! obviously a local who know that stretch of road inside out.....

Laughter is difficult to translate to English.

Get used to it, this will be a common sight in Bangkok within the next ten years.

Would be quite an obituary: "Run over by a truck whilst enjoying his jet-ski"

He didn't seem to be endangering anyone other than himself. The trucks were crawling along well away from where he was.  No harm no foul.

I must of been in Thailand too long. Whilst watching this i was shouting "turn on your bloody lights!"

If driving a jet ski alongside stationary trucks in a traffic jam is considered "thrill seeking".....my knitting with the lights out must be off the richter scale.

Noooo ... surely not.

You don't ... ... do  you?

No different than in Canada. When a big snowfall comes the snow mobiles come out on the streets.

Too much water to go racing his bike, what else can he do  :whistling:

Maybe the beach rentals will move to the big city. I will be fun to watch the BIB chasing them.

Being a thrill seeker is an age thingee. Most of us are well past that. For some of us thrill seeking is having dinner with a beautiful young lady a good meal and a nice bottle of wine hoping to get lucky at the end of the evening.

At least he was wearing a crash hat which is more than some of these idiots do, I think it was pretty cool actually

For the youngsters watching it it was a moment of levity and laughter.

I gave you a like. I think I am still a cool guy and I laughed at the video. The positive side of this was much smaller than the negative side. Geeze I hope Trump doesn't win. Negativity like cream seems to be rising to the top these days.

What a non event. I might have tried it myself given similar cirumstances and a a barrage of innoculations and anti bioitics.

My first thought was that, just like the thrill-seekers (or lazy bastards) on bikes in the dry - he was travelling on the wrong side of the road.

Better than the heavy artic truck overtaking on a corner in the rain over the double yellow lines
