....ok, so how big in diameter would you say ?...5mm, 10mm, 15mm......The reason I ask is because small coloured dots of about 5mm close together are a problem....10mm or bigger is ok. Really weird this colourblindness of mine....

I am color blind too but blue green. There is only one dot one color Red Yellow or green at a time. There are about 3-5 cm from a distance of 3+ meters. This is in Khon Kaen. Can't state for anywhere else.

Thanks for the reply. I might stand a chance then if that's the case. I'm in Loei so if the office here has a different method ill make the trip to KK. ...Cheers. ..

Here you can estimate how big the board with the color dots is.

Distance? Yes maybe about 3m.

BTW: during office hours you can usually sneak in and have a "preview", watch others doing the test.

At least this would have been easy at our office.

You are not doing an Ishihara test. The girly in the land transport authority thingummy will rather point to a poster on the wall that looks like the page of the Ishihara with not hidden number in the dots, she will point at various random dots in rapid succession, like red, red, green, yellow, red and if that seems to work, that's it.

It's usually more or less binary in that you either can do it or you just can't. If you can do it slower, well, tell her and it should be ok.

That is not my experience, here you have to identify the numbers.

It seems that there is 3 months delay to get a driving license anywhere in Thailand now !

Any information from where you live ?

i provided home licence + IDP in bkk at sukhumwit.

work permit OR residence cert. is required.

the licence is same day no tests apart from colour blind and silly reaction tests..

i saw multiple fails, mostly by uniformed taxi guys, all grinning and straight back to work

"you wore shorts above the knees". Quite right as well, that is just being disrespectful.

Phuket is different

For me it was exactly this board.

Last time they had a traffic light in Phuket. Only one light, but it was switched to green, yellow, or red. Big size and not to be missed. The lady was very happy to hear the colors in Thai ;-)
