Kuala Lumpur

Featured Replies

will be arriving in KUALA LUMPUR FROM AMSTERDAM first week of January with transit to Bkk with Air Asia.

I understand that the new airport Lcct is 20 klms away got 3 hours between flights.

Is this amount of time adaquate.

Is transit straight forward for a EU national.

LCCT is just the low cost carrier terminal at the same KL International Airport. It shouldnt take you long to transit between the terminals.

While LCCT is just across the tarmac, the bus between terminals has to go around the outside of the airport, so it probably is about 20klm. It will probably take about half an hour minimum.

All depends on whether you have to pick up your bags and go through immigration. I suggest you check with air asia.

Yes, agree with lamphun, check with AirAsia. Three hours sounds plenty but you'll arrive at the satalite terminal so you'll have to use the skytrain to landside terminal. Then it's a fair walk to immigration, baggage claim, locate the shuttle bus then the 20-30 minutes to LCCT. Whereas any one of those is no big deal they all add up and the queue at immigration can be slow.

Added to that AirAsia are not flexible with check-ins, if you are late you miss the plane period.
