Does anyone else suffer from hoarseness using Flomax?

Featured Replies

I've been using Harnal Ocas (Tamsulosin) which is the same as Flomax, for the last 3 months, and started to get very hoarse, which is one possible side effect.  I don't know if I should persevere or stop using it. Quite frankly, I haven't noticed any real change in night time urination, I still get up around 3 times a night.

I was on Flomax just after Bypass surgery and developed severe difficulty speaking, possibly as a result of damage from my surgical breathing tube.  At the recommendation of an ENT specialist, I was taken off Flomax as an added precaution,

Sorry, can't remember the name of the diuretic they replaced it with,  maybe Lasix.

Well as it isn't helping and has caused unpleasant side effect, to me it is a no brainer to stop it.

You're right, but 1) I was hoping the symptoms of the hoarseness might disappear with time, and 2) I wasn't sure how long I had to persevere with the medication before some benefits were noticeable. The problem is when Thai doctors (urologist at Bkk/Pattaya) prescribe these medications, they don't give any info re side effects, efficacy etc.

11Years ago i used flomax for 6 months , waste of time , although never had any side effects ,  still the same now get up once ,maybe twice a night
