Possible to register notification of foreign residence online?

Recommended Posts

I just returned from Pattaya and even though a regular guest this time round the hotel needed my ID because, according to staff, the immigration has become strict.

So I guess they have gotten serious about TM30.  However, since I am not residing in Pattaya where my condo is rented out, how do I register my TM30 within 24 hours ?

Has anyone been able to register online ?

I guess that someone is taking care of your rental property...check in, check out, cleaning, repairing, etc.

This person should have a "power of attorney" signed by both parties and witnesses.

This person should report guests to immigration using the TM30.

We live in Samut Sakhon and my wife made an arrangement with Imm.

On arrival, she sends some photos of the departure card stamp and passport stamps by Line to a lady at Imm.

All done.

If you stay with a friend in their property, then a TM 30 has to be filed.

Although it should be the house owner, renter etc, you are also allowed to make a report yourself.

You can download the form from here

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/files/category/6-thai-immigration-application-forms/

However, if you stay in hotels or resort/GH, then they will contact Imm online and report your presence at their address. That's why they need your passport.

For your rented out condo.

The renter has the responsibility of making their own TM30 report.

There is no online reporting site for single visitors.

Only for businesses that have to register for it.

If anything I mentioned is wrong, a real expert will soon put me right!

You can register online by going to https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/

You my need someone who can read thai to do this but if you now how to use google translate i'ts also doable.

The button you click to register is for hotel registration but when you are on the online registration page you have aa selection of Hotel, Guesthouse, Appartment or others.

A few days after submitting the registration you will receive a login and password.

When logging in with your username and password you can fill out the TM30 online form or if you have Excel you can download an Excel form and submit this.

Note that for all this you will have to be able to read some thai or be good at using google translate as the forms are a mix between thai and english.

I'm just back from staying at a girlfriend's house in a village some distance from Sisaket. I asked the village headman when he popped around the day after I arrived how my arrival should be registered with Immigration. He laughed and used a word that sounded very much like "bullsh*t"

Understood.

When I explained the need to my wife she said the same but....

During a visit to our local Imm for the 90 day report, I mentioned TM 30 and asked if it should be done or not.

Of course the had to explain to my wife that it was a requirement (and I was not mad LOL).

She arranged a way of sending passport stamp photos by the Line App so we are all good.

Good to see that we can register to do it online.

I shall have to try that in future. I think that this site will only work if we use IE or an IE Tab addon to our browser)

(Saving the link here:    https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/   )

From what I've understood:

Imm want the TM30 within 24 hrs or arrival in the country.

If you visit friends/family they generally don't want a TM30 every time you spend a night or few away, but of course, that depends on your local Imm/Officer of the day/mood he/she is in etc. After all, TiT!

The TM28 is used to inform them of a permanent change of address, moving to a new condo or to another area etc.

I never, ever ask a question of the bureaucracy unless I'm prepared to wear the consequences. I've never lodged a TM30 nor am I aware that anyone else has for me. I lease a condo (in Bangkok) and the condo management would have no idea when I come and go (which is often). I've never had a problem with 90-day reports online and I always give the address of my condo, no matter where I happen to be in Thailand at the time. Needless to say the answer I received from the village headman was the one I expected.

Yep, I understand that and good for you.

TiT and some folk will get away with such minor rule infractions whilst others may not.

It's a lottery for sure LOL

I prefer to find out what the rules are and (appear to) comply with them.

I hate the feeling of the sword of Damocles hanging over me and waiting to scupper my plans without warning. Perhaps I'm not a gambler?

I have read on TVF that when someone went to make their next yearly extension, they had problems because they had not supplied the TM 30.... Just unlucky I guess?

A few hours ago I had a stab at registering with the online system mentioned by pattjock and I should find out if I did it correctly in a few days. It sure was messy and looks as if it's really only meant for Thais LOL

Everyone should perform their own risk assessment about getting caught. I have a friend (I've posted about him elsewhere) who uses a well-known visa agent in Bangkok to handle his annual retirement extension, up to and including allowing them to mis-report where he lives for the extension and every 90 days. I think they're scamming him for the additional fees they charge for the service, but he's swallowed their self-serving stories. He believes that he'll be able to blame them if he's ever challenged by Immigration. That's his risk assessment!!

We were at immigration on Thursday.  Next to us, a guy was extending his visa due to marriage.  The house is in his wife's name.  They asked if she had registered him there.  No.  Off they went to some back room.  He had the house book, chanote, etc.  But wasn't registered to live there.

Denial of everything only works for Thai.We can deny but still have to cough up.

The hotel reported your arrival with a TM.30. You don't have to do it.

Any proof that they received your notification ?

Yes I get a receipt in the mail. You must send it via registered mail though so you have proof and it is a immigration requirement

You mean Immigration mailed a receipt to you ?  Or are you referring to proof of postage that you sent ?
