I wonder if anyone has sold a vehicle lately and could tell me which documents they needed to show? I seem to read conflicting reports of whether a residence certificate is needed for the seller; I know it's required for the buyer. I have the blue book/rental contract/passport. Is that enough, with a sale agreement paper? Thanks

Correct....but it will help also if you have the transfer form filled in by yourself this will save you going with the buyer to Land Transport if you so choose

sure, but that's not a requirement though.

 

If you do go to the bother of filling in a transfer form to avoid a trip to the DLT you should also consider a power of attorney form as well.

Op is specifically enquiring about the certificate of residence. Problem with that one is that it may be required, maybe not.

OP should tell us his location as some DLT's are a bit "easier" than others.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I live in Chiang Mai, and I realize that it can be different in each province! So, any recent experience of selling in Chiang Mai would be especially welcome.
