PARIS: -- Authorities in France have arrested seven men and say they have foiled a terror plot which was ‘‘envisaged for some time.’‘

Bernard Cazeneuve, the country’s Interior Minister, did not reveal the site of the planned attack.

“An anti-terrorist operation led by the General Directorate for Internal Security (GDIS– intelligence services) under the authority of the judiciary took place overnight between Saturday and Sunday in Marseille and Strasbourg. It led to the arrest of seven people, aged between 29 and 37, of French, Moroccan and Afghan nationalities,” Cazeneuve said.

Most of the arrested suspects are said to have come from Strasbourg, but the city and its famous Christmas market are not reported to have been the target of the planned attack.

Despite that, Strasbourg’s Mayor Roland Ries said security around the market would be tightened for the festive period.

France remains in a state of emergency, giving extra powers to police and security forces, following last year’s Paris attacks which left 130 people dead.

A total of 418 people have been arrested in France for suspected links to terror networks since the start of the year, including 43 people this month alone.

Just a matter of time before the next Jihadi spectacular.

Le Pen will romp the French election.

Do not think I need to mention where that will lead. I would not want to get the europhiles frothing at the mouth and assaulting their keyboards.

Le Pen will not be elected, first because it is a two turns election, then even if she was she would have to face legislative elections which she would lose...

SO all in all she has to win a much more  elections to be able to enforce her "more than far right" program.

When your party has a founder who think "the gas chambers are a detail of History", you start with a huge handicap.

Le Pen is just an prehistoric big  mouth, and I hope that on the second turn French voters will wake up

I know I will never vote for FN , which has no experience, just hate ...

France needs Donald Trump to be cloned. France will never be able to stop terrorism in their country until they

have a leader who is strong enough to deal with these animals. Make France Great Again, will never happen.

They have not been great for over 200 years.

While I have no time for the likes of le Penn, the Islamic threat has to be stopped somehow, who will come along and stop the invasion? Because that is what it is ,make no mistake, and not just of France
