Chiang Rai Hosts World Food Day at GMS Exhibition Center

 

CHIANG RAI – Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC)’s of Chiang Rai provincial office and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) held the 2016 World Food Day with a special exhibition on the late His Majesty the King’s legacy in sustainable development.

 

Agriculture Minister General Chatchai Sarikulya presided over the opening ceremony for the 2016 World Food Day at the GMS Exhibition Center in Chiang Rai City held under the theme “Climate is changing : Food and agriculture must, too” to promote food security and accommodate a rapid increase in global population and climate change.

 

He said Thailand was blessed to be reigned over by the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej who had the vision to solve environmental issues and global warming and had bestowed campaigns for forest conservation and waste water management to contain climate change as well as promoted the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
