Car for rent in Phuket

If you want full insurance cover you need to rent from one of the major companies like Avis, hertz, budget etc and pay extra for it

There are hundreds of back yard car renters around which you can check out yourself but most do not have full insurance cover available if any insurance cover at all

Cheap prices do not always end up being cheap if anything goes wrong usually the exact opposite

I agree about renting from a major hire company and with online booking there are some deals.Need a credit card and they swipe for 50,000 baht 'deposit'  ... but I've always had cancelled on return of the car without damage  But even with Avis they push you to take the extra charge to save you paying the first 3,000 +  baht of any damage.  I decline as this extra charge is quite expensive and on a 5 day hire it's cheaper to pay the small damage charge in the event of an accident.

As for the small rental outfits they will all say have insurance, but if you bother to read he small print in the rental contract (if even in English) then you will find that you would be liable for all damages not covered by their 'limited' insurance.

There is a "RENT-A-CAR" button near the top of this page  ^^^

Tried a few different dates on that site and no cars are available to rent at the airport

Probably a good idea to open a car rental business near the airport with a delivery service for one of the hundreds of car rental businesses in Phuket with no customers

I used the Thaivisa button at the top and rented cars on 2 occasions at Chiang Mai and Buriran airports this year.  I selected the Thai Rent-a-car option - very good price, no complaints with service.

I use phuket thai car rent every time I fly into phuket international airport. each time I rented 3 or 4days. 900baht/day for vios or equivalent.

What I like about this company is you pay cash and they don't collect any deposit + no credit card required. Give them a call once you land and they will pick you up from airport to their office 5min away.

I must have use them more than 10times, now they don't even copy my passport and driving license.

Also I like it I can order the car via line chat and they are always there to pick me up from airport. I think it's a small family run business but im not too sure. Hvnt had any problems with them or the cars.

Sounds very good ... but no copy of passport or DL .... I have used ThaiRentaCar  https://www.thairentacar.com/index.php/en/ a few times these last few years and they always vet my DL and papers, swipe my card for deposit. Never ever had any problem over the years.
