Back when I built my house I bought a load of ceramic balcony columns from a guy on the highway out near the airport.

Because it was a good sale and I bought some nice vases as well he gave me a set of dinner plates that looked hand made.

 

I was really taken with them but they are nearly finished now so I drove out last week to see if he had any more but needless to say he was gone. :sad:

 

I would be interested in any similar business if anyone has a suggestion.

Doi Din Daeng is probably a bit expensive but they sometimes have sale items.  Next time you go to Chiang Mai have a look at Wiang Pa Pao as you drive through.  There are a few places right on the road and we have found a few things to buy there.  When you are not looking things pop up everywhere but when you want something it often seems hard to find.
