It's the way it is I can assure you not everyone has access to a mobile. Plus  this is Thailand they have there ways not everyone likes things here but I have never heard a thai resident complain about the morning news bullitien. There are worse things in the world to worry about.

PS as our house is on the outskirts of our village we also get the neighbouring villages news which starts almost at the same time stereo so to speak.

Sometimes we get THREE! :)

The announcements in our village are introduced by the Nokia ring tone played at full volume for 5 minutes before the announcer starts laughing.

 

For years I used to ask what is he talking about? The wife answer was always I can't understand him he drinks to much.

 

A friend of mine did disconnect a speaker directly outside his home, a official reconnected it a week later and said if they found out who had disconnected the speaker they would be taken to court for damaging government property.
