Iron Man Pro Cell suspension for Fortuner TRD

Featured Replies

I had an Iron Man Pro Cell suspension upgrade done on my Mitsubishi Triton 4WD and am very happy with the results. Iron Man also makes a kit that will fit my 2008 Fortuner TRD I was thinking about having it installed however since my Fortuner has never nor will ever  see off road use is it worth doing. I would hate to spend the money and not find any improvement in ride quality.

Have any TV members had the kit installed on their Fortuner? Has it improved the ride and handling?

I had up rated shocks put on the Vigo, just had them taken off and stock fitted..

As a Fortuner TRD has lowered up graded suspension anyway would have thought it would be a complete waste of your monies. Better me thinks to spend cash upgrading the brakes. Although good they can be bettered.

update: I took the plunge and had Iron Man Foam Cell  shocks installed I kept the original TRD coil springs so there was no increase in profile height. There is a noticeable improvement in handling. I don't feel any improvement in comfort but that is to be expected given that the Fortuner TRD has a stiffer sport suspension.

Glad it worked out. I had read about the new fortuner's stock suspension not being as good as some of it's competitors on the road. I made  an inquiry and was told that the ironman foam cell comfort (white coloured shocks), would be a good choice.
