Hello everyone,

I have gotten an appointment for 29/12/2016 for my bike license's theory and road test. I have already passed the eye test. I was wondering what the road test is like? Is there a "beam balance/plank" test? Do we also have to go zig-zag through the cones? Do they easily pass everyone? Thank you!

The test is a joke ,if you fail the test don't try again just think that you have saved your life and take taxi or walk .the Thai test is nothing to do with safe riding only how to move along

If you can ride a bicycle, you will pass this test.
They will allow you to do it on an automatic Motorcycle if you want.
Passed on the first attempt, and very long time ago I rode a motorcycle.

Super easy, and a passing relationship to road riding.

Just try the Japanese big bike test (5% pass rate) if you want tough, slow speed part has little connection to road riding.

Well, that looks like a reasonable test for a country that cares about road safety.
Similar to my test I had to do in Germany.

However, it might be a bit harsh for mom and pop riding the Honda wave in the town.
So in my opinion they should introduce classes according to cc for motorcycle like most western countries.
Anyway, most Thai big bike owners I know are just prolls and never take their bike out of town for a long ride etc...
Just show....

Slightly out of region bordering off topic but...Phuket's road test is all computerized now.  The bike test is still easy but the car test is a nightmare.  The final stage is driving a car with the left front wheel on a 6 inch wide yellow paint line that is touching the curb for about 50 feet.  Basically driving with your wheel hub 3 inches from the curb.  It is a ridiculous non-real world test.  It is monitored by cameras so no fudging the results.  You can repeat it (only the portion you fail) but it must be done the following week.  My GF went 3 times before passing, meaning closing her shop for 3 whole days and loosing that income.  If she failed the third time I was going to take a camera and mount it under her wheel well and run it to the  monitor in the car so she could just watch the line on the screen.  There were other girls there in tears after failing week after week.  After 9 weeks of fails you have to start the whole process over again.  Reason I bring this up is if you always wanted a license but put it off and you live outside Phuket, GO NOW before the cameras and computers come to your town.

Low pass rate would be down to remembering where to go.

When I've done my test at DLT Chatuchak two years ago they already had these cameras in place.
And yes, it's absolutely ridiculous to call this a driving test.
I failed three times with the stop line test... Driving car since ten years already

I have a valid California Commercial class A and Motorcycle license with an International license already, I understand that since I have these I do not need to take the drive test. Is that true? also, does anyone know the link for an english sample test for the motorcycle? I have been studying the one for the standard drivers license.

I took both test after studying the online test.  Both tests were basically identical, I think maybe two questions were different but all were on the online test.
