Ubon to Mukdahan, public minivan start and finish times?

Featured Replies

I remember that a few years ago the first minivan from Ubon to Mukdahan was around 7am, and the last one was 7pm.

This was the same for buses. There were none between Ubon and Muk after 7pm.

The minivans left from the main bus station.

Does anyone know if anything that has changed in regards to the times (7am start and 7pm finish)?

Or if there are any other minivan services (besides private ones) besides the bus station ones that operate outside of these times?

Are there any buses from Ubon to Muk after 7pm nowadays?

Thanks.

The company I know of is Sahamit Ubon; green and white buses and minibuses.  I don't know about their travel times, but the number I have is 045-285534.

Their office/depot is on the road that runs down the side of the bus terminal, and very near to it.

Thanks very much for the info.

They say the times are: 5:30am-6pm. And the same times leaving Muk.

The main bus terminal says that the public buses to Muk finish at 5pm.

Thanks for your info.

I'm not sure if you need a van coming back to Ubon or not, but my friend from Mukdahan says the early minivans fill up very quick with people commuting to Ubon for work every morning. She says anytime after 8am is easy to get a seat but don't be surprised if you can't get a ride early.

The Ploy Palace Hotel has a shuttle service to Ubon.

It's an option to look into.

The van from the Ploy runs to the airport ONLY. You are not permitted to ask to get off anywhere else. Why? Who knows...as always TIT. It's a shuttle run by the travel agency at the hotel & should coincide with Nok Air flights to/from Ubon.

Here's another blurb from a travel website:

Mukdahan does not have an airport, but Air Asia and Nok Air both offer “fly and ride” services that make it possible to book an all-inclusive minibus and flight to/from Bangkok via Nakhon Phanom, Sakhon Nakhon or Ubon Ratchathani. Air Asia’s meeting point is the Riverfront Hotel, while Nok Air meets at the Ploy Palace Hotel.

I would say Ubon is. Last year I noticed a new bus company started there and there was a bus every hour to Mukda. I don't think you will face difficulties going from one to the other.

Quantify better...???

There are certainly more flights to Ubon, than Nakon Phanom. Two different vans are available to take you to 2 different hotels in Muk, directly from the airport, from Ubon. No idea about Nakon Phanom.

If you are going into Muk proper, then Ubon is probably the best bet. If you are headed to Nakon Nowhereburi, in the northern part of the province, N.P. is probably better, travel time wise, anyway.
