Thai Man Accused of Raping Russian Tourist on Koh Samui

KOH SAMUI — A 27-year-old Thai man confessed to robbing and raping a Russian tourist on the island of Samui, police said Monday.

 

Sattawat Choomee admitted upon his arrest he pretended to be a victim of the ongoing flood Friday night and asked the woman for a motorcycle ride home, Koh Samui police said. He later allegedly robbed and assaulted her.

If he gets a prison sentence,he will be treated as a hero by the other filth that inhabit the nick he gets sent to.There will be none of this,mob justice by his fellow cons,it doesnt happen here.They will all be more interested in asking him what its like with a felang girl,rather than anything else.And i dont think they have sectioning,or rule 43 here.He will be a star for a short while,regaling his cohabitants with his vile crime. phew...glad they cleared that up......had me confused of a moment, thought the well fed guy in the middle wearing the jewelry was escorting the other underfed two in tight matching uniforms out for a good time.

put him to work cleaning up the giant trash heap..

Police are still waiting for a formal medical examination result from a hospital to confirm that the rape took place before they can file sexual assault charges against the suspect, though Sirichai said he’s confident of Sattawat’s guilt.

“I believe that happened, but we still have to wait for evidence,” the lieutenant colonel said.

 

By which time he will have regained what little sense he has and claim it was consensual.  Meanwhile, the victim will be going back home and unavailable to testify if and when it does come up for trial.  Too bad...

 

Edit:  On a related note, did anything ever happen to the guy in BKK that did exactly that- just recently?

The tourist court is geared towards taking sworn testimony, allowing victims to depart on time and encouraging others to do so.

 

Whether that happened this time remains to be seen.
