Will in Udon

If the will isn't chock-full of convoluted codicils she needn't bother with a lawyer.

The Amphur in Udon  will type up the document and provide civil servants to witness it. They keep a hard copy on file and also (I think) on their computer system. My wife and I did this about 5 years ago and the cost was about 300 baht per will. I was impressed with how thorough they were.

I was told by a legal service in town that the standard fee set by local lawyers was going to be 20,000 baht, but that may have been a farang price.

If she still wants to use a lawyer, the local forums mention  a couple of candidates who have got good reports.

Thanks for your reply. Its only to ensure the contents of her bank account goes to our daughter. Also her farmland. She has 2 brothers who never get in touch with her or her mother unless they are after something. I want to ensure that they don't come sniffing about should the worst happen.

I made out a will about six years ago, I recently read (can't remember where?) that a Thai will was only good for 5 years, anybody know any better, or is it BS?
