Warning Poisoned Beach Naklua

Featured Replies

Since last Friday, it has to flown noxious poison in a klong that start on the other side of Sukhumvit Road, going under Sukhumvit and along Sukhumvit Soi 2 (near Djittapawan Buddhist College) into the sea off  Naklua. It smells like acid. All the fish have died. Today it floats white foam. The ocean outside our house has become black and opaque. Fish and plants have died.

My wife called 1337 Pattaya Contact Center. She talked to a woman who said they would not do anything unless my wife found out which company that dumped the poison and after that came in person to City Hall and made a written statement.

When I called and spoke to a lady who spoke English, she said that they would send out an official any(!) day.

Had it been in my home country, the authority had acted immediately and cleaned up the poison. Here in Thailand, nobody cares.

Take my advice and do not swim in Naklua where there is strong poison in the water.

I think you have found the cause of the problem.

But I agree that it is a shame watching Thais destroy their own country in their pursuit of money.

Someone cared enough to post this article on Pattayawatchdog facebook page
