north Pattaya bay beach

Featured Replies

I wish a private Swiss or German conglomerate or even Central enterprises (see how they quickly renovated "Marina Mall"?) could manage Pattaya, a financially blessed city from the tourist dollar and tax. But let's get back to reality... Why did the city block off the north end of Pattaya beach (across from Amari and Holiday Inn hotels) when  contractor Kijakam Ruamaka had not thought out every detail?(I wonder if he has a degree?)  It has been four months since there has been work on it with the "wonderful" banner advertisement from the city promoting their beach renovation project.) (Which blocks the view of the sea.)

The last news on it was that "officials" discovered that taking sand from the estuary near Rayong to replenish the eroded sand along Pattaya Beach was objected. Then it was reported sand would be taken from Koh Khram but the color of the sand does not match (who gives a "F") and the island is owned by the Royal Navy and they object.

Sounds like another amateur job to me. Wouldn't a "real" engineer have this all figured out before blocking off three city blocks of beach that sets in front of 4-5 star hotels and beach users?

Simple analogy: If one begins to bake cookies, wouldn't he/she make sure they have flour or sugar before starting?  Didn't city/ junta officials ask detailed questions about the project before they started?

I still wonder the quality of the Sukhumvit underpass will be like? You will not see me chancing it during a heavy rain. (I have yet seen any city project be completed with acceptable professional standards--except their firework display and music festivals).

They sure know how to make money. The problems seem to be mostly about spending it. What on? Who with? Some previous spending plans have had their critics on here and it is not easy to think of a success story where the city council is concerned. Such an experiment as you propose is arguably taking place in the USA; starting in earnest next week, albeit on a larger scale.

There's already threads about the north Pattaya beach nourishment program and the tunnel. There's even more about how badly the locals appear to mismanage the city. Quite a few are already debating if anyone involved in these projects is qualified.
