Just wondering how much pocket money should/does the average xpat carry on a daily basis for meals, transport, mall walking, pop in the 711,or acold one at the local pub.  How much is to much and how much is to little?  This might have already been covered In which case I apologize.  Thanks much future Newbie

I think you should carry "heeps" around, hanging out of your back pocket, and also the obligatory thick gold chain.

.

and if a lady with a moustache takes it .....I think Mexico should Pay...........:coffee1:

.....more wine please

It depends on when I go to the ATM, could be anything between 1000 and 21000

+1 when in Bkk, Phuket or Pattaya personally I wouldnt carry less than 10k and probably more. When up country 2-3k in the sky rocket will more than cover any eventuality IMO.

Thanks all, I was watching a retire in Thailand video and the dnodmads couple were talking about shop keepers refusing to take a 1000,00 note.  So I started  wondering just how much coin and paper you los lifers carry. Thanks much for the replies

1 vote briefs!!!

Some taxi drivers are insistent that they don't have any change for whatever note !!, and yes shop keepers do turn their noses up at 1000 baht notes.

I tend to pay with larger notes at 7/11, Big C, Tesco etc just for the change.

Oh and by the way 7/11 is 7 and Tesco is Lotus !!
( it's a Thai thing )
