Not here long enough my friend. Everything is for sale. Selfmade guns. Grenades. Bazookas. Etc. The advantage of having once were lawless states surrounding your country. In myanmar alone there are enough weapons in the hands of ethnic armies to provide thailand for the next 50 years [emoji6][emoji44]?

Surely you mean, "The advantage of LIVING IN a lawless state" >_>

Ok, let's go to the Fair! Got essentials? Yes, I've got the grenades, who's got the rocket launcher? What's wrong with these young people!

More likely  what is wrong with the parents, police, law enforcement (lack of) etc. Not discounting the " connections" which tends to give carte blanc approval to do what ever suits you.

From black market...... there are a lot of weapon traffic between Cambodia and Thailand

From the Army! why would you bother going to Cambodia for something you can get down the street. It's been that way for over 50 years.

So, some teenager disrespected another teenager and the guy who

lost face escalated. I guess the old "sticks and stones can break

my bones but words............." has never been translated to Thai

and  these children have never heard such an saying.

Brawls between rival youth gangs resulting in violence are hardly news-worthy? More often than not they are associated with rival technical schools. And while they usually just hack away at each other with shop--made machetes they do use single-round homemade zip-guns, and the resulting inaccuracy usually claims the life of some innocent.

These gangs are actually encouraged by the "powers-that-be", albeit informally through "alumni" contacts, and have served as a sort of unofficial militia which can be used to put down pesky students and commoners.

Temple fairs are an affront to the general public and a nuisance to the people living nearby. Should shut at midnight with zero beer and alcohol sold.

They are no longer the pillars of the community rather the place where no-one but the Monks can say anything and so anything goes.

Deaths fights, drunkenness and sexual assaults  to name but a few of the crimes that go on at these places and the AUTHORITES do nothing.

Temple fairs, deafning music, young girls dancing, drinking, rubbish for sale. Thai Buddhism at its best!

The old worn out "Thai Buddhism" thing again. Are you really that dull? Of course none of this stuff goes on in Christian countries.

The Church of England at its best! French Catholicism at its best!

Meathead.

Rattan Cane is needed to adjust these miscreants at an early stage as they need to have the errors of their way enforced on them, it works in Singapore and Malaysia as not too many line up for another arse walloping plus the social stigma attached is character building........ Spare the rod , spoil the child.....

how does teenagers get grenades in Thailand?

Maybe on of their dads is in the army - and, like countless thousands of other kids, were given lessons on how to use military hardware as a Children's Day treat.

Too much methyl-alcohol lately?

No 'church' or parish ever organized anything closely as ridiculous and contradictory as what they call a 'temple -fair' here, not where i come from or ever visited in Europe, the USofA, Canada ... or several Muslim countries for that matter.

Just to clarify: i don't give a hoot for any and all so called religions.

Meathead? It sure takes one to recognize one.

none of them can read or write, or get a job, but they can get grenades.

In NA countries, drugs are easier to buy than cigarettes.

Just the way things are.

Probably stole them from daddy's army pack.

But shocking that they had this fight at a temple.

My friend has witnessed two killings here, one in a nightclub and another at a market where they hacked a guy to death with a machete.

Very dangerous country now.

Take care out there!
