Rasta Movement in BKK

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a Rastafarian scene in BKK? I would like to hope I can worship with some fellow practitioners when I am in town next week. Preferrably Thai devotees.

Ive spoken to my soul brothers in other parts of Thailand and they dont know of a BKK scene. What about you people here at TV? Help a brother out with getting in touch with god's bountiful love? Praise Jah !

Good luck with finding salvation.....I can't even find a loaf of garlic bread.

Been discredited even in the UK, good music though. i Jah Man was a favourite

There are a couple of reggae bars in Bangkok that you could try... here and here are 2 that I know of.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Reggae and Rasta are not the same, a real Rasta would not be seen dead in a place like that, that's a place for dreads- people posing with the hair and attitude, not genuine Rastafarians.

The Overstay has a lot of quality reggae shows, from local artists and international.

There is definitely nowhere in Bangkok where you will find your fantasy, really best to stay away.

I think you'd be hard pressed to come up with a scene or fantasy you can't find in BKK if you look hard enough.

Rasta's not my cuppa, but I would never bet against someone who's looking finding it in BKK.

In which case start one on your own. Easy enough. Go to meetup.com and make a group. Who knows who'll turn up.

I agree with you but, although it wasn't addressed to you, you sort of missed the underlying point of my bigotry!

noun

1.

a member of the Rastafarian religious movement. Rastafarians have distinctive codes of behavior and dress, including the wearing of dreadlocks, the smoking of cannabis, the rejection of Western medicine, and adherence to a diet that excludes pork, shellfish, and milk.

So essentially, you are asking where you can go and meet people to break the strict drug laws here ?

Maybe he meant pasta and not rasta?

I love a bowl of lasagne after a spliff anyway. :w00t:
