Hotel For Wedding Recommendations

Featured Replies

anyone tied the knot in Bangkok and had a reception in any of the hotels and can recommend any

Thanks

I suppose it depends on your budget. We have been to three weddings here, all of farangs (one to a Thai national). Two were at the Imperial queens thingy hotel next to Empo and the other was in the Banyan tree.

really lots of hotels that i can recommend...depends on your budget, what kind of wedding reception you want (sit down chinese dinner? cocktail? buffet?) then theres the location factor.....

but for starters...sukhothai does a lovely cocktail, and depending on number of guest they door a nice outdoor party which is lovelyyyyyyy

if you prefer the chinese meal, then siam city does them the best in terms of value for the price...service is good too...again for the day time ceremony (engagement) they can do a nice garden tea type arrangement perhaps (we used this for my brother's wedding..so I speak from somewhat first hand experience)

a couple of others....if u give me basic idea of what you are after :o

<<speaks she the wedding-planner-wannabe>> :D ohhh and congrats :D

thanks

it will just be the evening thing as already done the engagement and will be doing the traditional ceremony side of things down in the south a little earlier. Would think a sit down buffet or the Chinese style meal for approx 200

My girl and I have just started to plan our wedding reception which will be in June. We are hoping to have it at a hotel in Bangkok. I would like to spend less than 200k Baht. I would also like to get any advise and also any price ranges if any of you know.

150pax

cocktail style

you can do the cocktail style wedding in a 4 star hotel around bangkok for 450 to 650 baht per person. this includes food, and usually can negotiate to include soft drinks as well. alcoholic drinks will be extra, but often hotels will let you bring in your own wine with no corkage charge, as long as you order atleast the beer from them :o

in terms of the sit-down dinner.....buffets are usually cheaper, but with guest of 200 (small for thai weddings) hotel will be able to do chinese banquet meals easily (they tend to be slightly more expensive ofcourse). if you choose the buffet....sheraton on sukhumvit is good, also shangri la on the river (they arent as expensive as going to eat in the restaurants outlets, so you will be able to get reasonable rates). in terms of the aesthetic side of it, i still say sukhothai is one of the best to hold a wedding. so talk to them as well....but price might be a bit high?

the chinese banquet at Siam City hotel comes in many packages, and you can choose from price range of 650 nett per person up to 850 nett or even higher. you dont need to choose the very expensive menu.....even their most basic one offers lots of food already.....

congrats to both soon-to-be-wed couples :D
