If they have evidence that the Abbott has broken the law then he should be arrested and charged.  Nobody is above the law.  If he is innocent his followers shouldn't be afraid of him being taken away for questioning.  Cutting power, water, etc, could result in deaths which will result in martyrs.

Has there been any order for people not to enter the temple.  If so, those entering should be arrested one by one until they can get to the abbott.

Nobody should be above the law, but there are plenty who are. It is one of the reasons that many people can 'justify' not arresting or pursuing certain people when a cursory glance around will see many other crooks not being pursued and seemingly immune to investigation and prosecution.

Pray for peace being tweeted a lot on twitter.

Peace can exist only in a society where there is respect for the rules of civilised living and not any sect or group places itself above the rule of Law (and the various Books for that matter).

Therefore, Prayers of those promoting to set themselves above others are unlikely to be heeded.

3rd round of the match. Dhammachayo 3 Prayut 0.

Everyone involved in taking action against Dhammakaya, including Prayuth,  is probably terrified of the karmic consequences. Superstition rules in Thailand!

Throw in the Krabi coal plant protesters and the Junta is definitely on their back-foot.

Of course, this is when they usually do something very stupid, like murder their own citizens, so let's hope someone has Prayut and Prawit on a very short leash.

I find Prawit at times to be more scary and cunning than Prayuth

It feels like watching happenings in a parallel universe! Thousands of police and army being outflanked at every end and turn by a mob of saffron robed thugs is a fascinating display of how canny streetwise thinking can easily beat and humble the might of the highly trained and armed state machine.

But wait, the state apparatus is not full resourced right now because they do not yet have their submarine. As soon as it arrives we will all be able to breathe a sigh of relief as it sweeps up the klong and brings these pseudo religious upstarts to their senses.

Breathes a sigh of relief?

because they do not want to be seen as too heavy handed, this is a rather awkward situation and could easily be exploited by divisive elements.

There is no doubt there something very wrong with these mega establishments in particular this one, is it a business or a temple, the whole thing has got lost in greed and money, that's what happens when such establishments are unregulated financially - they get exploited, it is a shame really to see that even religion in Thailand has become so corrupt, it's a bigger shame that ordinary people cannot see this place for WAT it is - a criminal enterprise

If it was me - once it is cleared out I would bulldoze the whole thing flat.

Why do these so called religious people feel the need to hide their faces

The whole country needs massive religious reform and get back to basics. They also need to introduce strict financial auditing, money laundering is serious business especially in a country like Thailand were corruption is endemic

Sounds a bit like the infamous red line in Syria. The worst thing the authorities can do at this point is nothing. I said the same thing when the yellow shirts were marching in the direction of Suvarnabhumi airport, years ago, and look what happened to the nation. Not doing anything makes the government, the army, and the police appear corrupt, compromised, or indifferent. Regardless, it is the wrong move, at the wrong time.

Many in these temples enrich themselves to an embarrassing degree. And many of the followers just refuse to see it, acknowledge it, or complain about it. Not good. Not good at all. Not good for anybody except the super freaks who gain millions from poor people just wanting to have a little merit in their lives, and unfortunate enough to believe in such a concept, based on donations, and not good acts, and working to improve humanity.

So the toothless tigers that call themselves police once again achieve absolutely nothing against blatant law violations, while some poor lady on holiday has the 'full force of the law' thrown against her for feeding fish, without necessarily knowing she was doing anything wrong. Do the authorities in Thailand know how incompetent and utterly stupid they look to the outside world?

They acknowledge that the monk fled some time ago....this is all about finding wealth....gold, cash ornaments...I don't think anything in here would be safe once the DSI, police and all the other goons, get inside proper.

It's turning into a volatile situation very quickly.....they all need to back off.
